Born&Bronx (2025 — Present)

My new continuous, personal photo project—Born&Bronx—is a play on the phrase ‘Born & Raised’, aiming to capture Bronx residents, friends, & community members candidly and naturally in their respective neighborhoods. The Bronx is often reduced to a false and dangerous narrative that overshadows a rather vibrant, culturally rich, and diverse home to many people. With this photo project, I hope to reimagine people’s negative perception of this urban playground by inviting viewers into the lives of everyday people. While home can be a physical space, it’s usually a culmination of intangible things like emotion, memories, culture, and community that creates the feeling of fondness. I want to capture people interacting with their home environment as they naturally would, humanizing my beloved borough.
